(I just found out iPodEditor is universal, so it runs on PowerPC and Intel. I added that to this entry.)

iPod Editor is a program for creating and installing custom themes/firmware for iPods (1-5.5G iPod, 1G iPod Nano, or an 1-2G iPod Mini). It is for Intel 32-bit Intel macOS Computers (and PowerPC, it is a universal application). It is a viable alternative to iPodWizard for Mac users.

Unlike iPodWizard, the developer's website is still up and likely available to contact. If needed, it is possible to try and get a 64-bit version compiled to help expand the lifespan of the application.

Information

From Mr. Gecko's Media's Website:

iPodEditor brings the Mac to the power of editing the iPod's interface. Everything from text to pictures you can now edit with iPodEditor. iPodEditor supports a wide variety of iPods: 1-5.5G iPod, 1G iPod Nano, and 1-2G iPod Mini. iPodEditor uses iPodEdit as it core tool for extracting/writing resource to/from firmware and ImageMagick for converting images so, you can edit them with Photoshop or any other picture editing software you have. iPodEditor supports a wide variety of images thanks to ImageMagick: bmp, gif, pdf, pict, png, psd, sgi, and tga.

One unique feature within iPodEditor that is not found within iPodWizard is the ability to directly add and remove bootloaders. You just upload the bin file and iPodEditor will add the bootloader.
