Revision as of 19:13, 13 April 2021 by wiki>Quix (I created the skeleton for a future article on firmware extraction.)
This article is a stub
This means that it is either a skeleton article, isn't stylized properly or doesn't have enough information to constitute being a real article.
Addition of appropriate information - or proper styling, if this was the reason for stubbing - is usually grounds for removal of this block of text.
This page acts as a guide for extracting firmwares from iPods. iPods, unlike iOS devices, can be upgraded and downgraded with relative ease. There is also a need for the archival of certain firmware versions, since some versions are considered lost and no longer available from Apple.
Note: if you are looking to help archive any unique firmware versions you own, you can check out certain archival groups such as IPSL.
