The iPod touch (2nd generation) was released September 9, 2008 as the successor to the original iPod touch. It featured a tapered design, similar to the Unibody Macs, and several new features, including but not only a built-in speaker, Bluetooth (with iPhone OS 3.0), and volume buttons. It originally shipped with iPhone OS 2.1, but was supported up to iOS 4.2.1.
