AirPods (series)

AirPods are a lineup of Apple products introduced in 2017, alongside the introduction of the iPhone 7. Four distinct products have been introduced to the AirPods lineup: the first-generation AirPods earbuds (September 2017), the second-generation AirPods earbuds (March 2019), AirPods Pro in-ear monitors (October 2019), and AirPods Max headphones (December 2020).

In addition to playing audio via the AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) protocol and the SBC (Sub-Band Coding) protocol, both via A2DP and Bluetooth 4.0, all AirPods models feature a built-in microphone that filters out background noise, which allows phone calls and talking to Siri, Apple's digital smart assistant.
