X Lossless Decoder (XLD) is a free application for decoding music files into different formats. You can decode files to and from FLAC, Apple Lossless,and AIFF just to name a few. It is a good tool for making ALAC version files for an iPod, iTunes, or iOS.
Compatibility
XLD works on macOS 10.4 and higher. It is programmed to be a universal application, so it can run on PowerPC, Intel, and ARM Macs.
