About
The iPod Bluetooth Mod involves adding bluetooth functionality to certain iPods which do not have bluetooth built in. The only iPods that have bluetooth are iPod Touches (2nd gen - current gen) and the iPod Nano 7th Generation. Because of the widespread popularity of bluetooth headphones and the cordless audio experience they provide, this mod has been sought after by those with the skills to complete. But, bluetooth adapters are an easier and more viable route for most listeners looking to add bluetooth.
There are two routes one can follow to accomplish this modification:
- AUX to Bluetooth dongle, or a 30-Pin to Bluetooth adapter (Ex: Kokkia 30-pin to Bluetooth).
- Hardware modification (tends to involve soldering and attaching extra components to the iPod logic board).
