The iPod Radio Remote is an accessory for the iPod that gives compatible iPods radio functionality. It allows user to listen to radio stations, and has its own radio menu (that is enabled once plugged in) in which to change stations. The Radio Remote also gives users a remote in which to play, pause, and control iPod music playback through (similar layout to the iPod Shuffle). This accessory connects through the 30 pin connection port on the iPod.
Compatibility
The following devices support the iPod Radio Remote:
- iPod Classic (6/7 Gen)
- iPod Video (5/5.5 Gen)
- iPod Nano (1st thru 4th Gen)
Note: The iPod nano (5th generation) was the first iPod to offer integrated radio functionality. All future nanos had this function built-in.
Limitations
The only limitations of this accessory is that the headphones must be plugged into the Radio Remote to listen to radio. This is because the radio remote uses the headphones that attach to it as an antenna.
