The iPod mini may refer to...

• the first-generation iPod mini, released in January 2004
• the second-generation iPod mini, released in February 2005

Some people mistakenly refer to the iPod shuffle and the iPod nano as the iPod mini. These iPods, unlike the iPod mini, use flash storage as their primary means of storing music (instead of a "Microdrive" hard disk).
