The iPod Seventh Generation, marketed and sold as the "iPod Classic", was released in September 2009, and did not have any visible differences compared to the previous version. It simply replaced the previous 120GB iPod Classic 6.5 with a thin 160GB version. It also unlocked the storage limit within the stock OS, up to 2TB, compared to the 6 and 6.5 generation iPods only supporting up to 128GB. These models also has a volume limit exclusively in European markets, where the volume would be locked past a certain level with no way to increase it past this, compared to other iPods. This would not be fixed until the 7.5 revision.

7.5 Revision
There was also another revision of the 7th generation, adding nothing apart from a new firmware revision (2.0.5 compared to 2.0.4 of most 7th gens) with the only known difference being an unrestricted volume limit in European markets.
This firmware update did not come to other 7th gen iPods, which means any 7th gen iPods with this volume restriction have no way to remove this (other than using a different operating system)
